Hyun-Jung and Andrea are visiting collaborative labs

Hyun-Jung Kim is visiting the laboratory of Dr. Alexey Amunts at the SciLifeLab in Stockholm (Sweden). She will learn some basics of cryo-EM and attempt reconstructing the structure of mitochondrial ribosome assembly intermediates.

Andrea L. Ruetenik is visiting the laboratory of Dr. Lisa Ellerby at the Buck Institute for Research on Aging (Novato, CA). She is learning how to create and manipulate iPSCs and derived neuronal precursors, generated from fibroblasts from patients suffering from Huntington’s disease.
